DYLAN TAYLOR
Dylan Taylor began performing in Nashville venues when she was just 13 years old. While she honed her craft in the coffeehouses, hotel lounges and the famous Bluebird Cafe, it was in the rougher, less forgiving honky-tonks of Music City where she developed her edgy, rock swagger and style. She was commonly called an "old soul" by listeners who experienced her insightful lyrics.
Her musical heroes were introduced to her by her father - Dan Fogelberg, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Patti Griffin, Steve Earle, Poco, the Grateful Dead, Carole King, Joan Baez, the Beatles and Michael Jackson highlighted the eclectic mix of music that influenced Dylan Taylor during her early developmental years.
Introduced to many influential music industry insiders by bluegrass and songwriting veteran Harley Allen, Dylan spent her teenage years climbing the ladder by playing with and opening for popular performers and songwriters in venues throughout the Southeast.
In 2009, she signed a publishing deal with Next Century Music and soon released her first, self-titled album, which quickly became a hit on college radio receiving airplay on over 90 college radio stations across the country. Her single, “I Like That," was hugely popular and became the number one song on the University of Dayton, Ohio’s WUDR in 2011. Tiffany Walker of DStripped Magazine summed Dylan up in 2011, “Dylan gets on stage and sings her soul alive.”
In 2012, Dylan released the single "I Hate the Way" (co-written and produced by Trey Bruce) followed by the release of a game app for smart phones featuring the song. Dylan's self-penned songs, "Under The Table" and "Picture on My Wall" were featured on the nationally acclaimed Showtime series The Real L Word (Season 3, Episode 7). A second album, Wanted, followed in 2014 accompanied by a tour of the Southeast.
And in February 2016, Dylan’s third album, Heartbreak Circus, debuted to a packed crowd at Nashville’s legendary Douglas Corner and has since gotten rave reviews. Her real life vision pulls the listener into a melancholy world with lyrics and melodies that have been described as “beautifully broken.”
Dylan continues to play locally in Nashville to high acclaim as well as touring the Southeast and central United States. She recently signed on Crush Worldwide (Johnny Hiland, Hippie Soul Sisters and more) for career guidance and a concert video is planned for May 2016 and a Southeastern college tour is in the works for 2017.
