Johnny Hiland is recognized as one of the greatest guitarists on the planet. He has performed both as a solo artist as well as with some of the biggest names in the business. Johnny was recently recognized by Guitar World magazine as "One of the 50 Fastest Guitarists of All Time" and by gibson.com as one of the five greatest chicken pickers in the world. A recent Vintage Guitar magazine readers poll named him one of the Top 5 favorite country guitarists along with Albert Lee, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Not bad company. His albums have been well-received and his single "Call Me The Breeze," from his latest album "Standing Strong," has been lauded by the guitar press as even better than the Lynyrd Skynyrd and writer J.J. Cale originals and was publicly praised by the J.J. Cale estate. His first foray into the gospel world with his soon-to-be-released "Pickin' For The Lord" is being called a masterpiece. Johnny and his band will take you on a musical journey through many guitar styles ranging from blues, rock, country and more!

Opener Eddie Heinzelman had been the bandleader, guitarist and musical backbone of many a country star, most recently Radney Foster. His most recent album, "Wherever You Go" is getting great notices from the music press.

Cledus T Judd is an American country music artist known for his daring parodies of today’s top country music hits. His bold lyrics and hysterical videos to match have named him the “Weird Al” Yankovic of country music. Judd has an impressive history, having toured with acts such as Brooks and Dunn, Brad Paisley, Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, the Dixie Chicks, Shania Twain, and Montgomery Gentry. Having released eleven studio albums and two EPs has led several of their singles to enter the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. After hanging up his overalls for 3 years , he is “strate outta retarment” and funnier than ever with “My Weight’s Goin’ Up Down,” a parody of Morgan Wallen’s #1 Country single “Up Down” featuring Florida Georgia Line. The video premiered on CMT Music and CMT.com in late July and immediately became one of their top trending clips, hitting the CMT 12 Pack Countdown chart.

Ginger Billy is a hillbilly from the backwoods turned comedian and has been recognized as a heartthrob in the country community.

The harmonica has been the backbone of countless genres of music from country to folk to blues and so many others. It can sit to the side and add texture to a song, but it’s not afraid to step up front and be the star of the melody line. We will celebrate the instrument by presenting four of its finest practitioners in an evening of music.

Joining us for this incredible night, along with an all-pro house band, are:

CHARLIE McCOY – 77-year-old Country Music Hall of Fame member Charlie McCoy is a multi-instrumentalist, but is known mainly for his harmonica playing for a who’s who of music royalty. In addition to numerous cuts by Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Ringo Starr and countless others, Charlie has recorded 37 albums of his own and has had 13 singles on the Billboard charts. And he was musical director of the popular television show, Hee Haw for 19 years. It’s truly an honor to have him join us for this great evening.

BUDDY GREENE – The 2014 SPAH Harmonica Player of the Year, Buddy Greene brings a wide variety of southern Americana influences to his music to create a unique musical hybrid of country, bluegrass, folk, gospel and traditional blues. In addition to his solid reputation as a singer-songwriter and guitarist, Buddy has established himself as one of Nashville's finest harmonica stylists. His live concerts are equal parts hymn sing, jam session, church house revival, and journey through his own musical history.

JELLY ROLL JOHNSON – Recipient of the 2018 SPAH Lifetime Achievement Award, Kirk "Jelly Roll" Johnson's distinctive, soulful style of harmonica has earned him critical acclaim, numerous awards, and a place among Nashville's top session musicians. His unique sound has been heard on over 50 gold and platinum albums by such artists as Trisha Yearwood, Etta James, Alabama, Lonestar, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain as well as three Grammy winning albums by Randy Travis.

TIM GONZALEZ – A two-time winner of the NIMA Best Live Blues Performer Award, Tim Gonzalez arrived in Nashville in 1992. His adventurous, rhythmic, soulful, melodic style has earned him gold and platinum status on the national charts with country artists Toby Keith and Ronnie Milsap. He has also performed or recorded with B.B. King, Grammy-winning Los Lonely Boys, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Schneider and many others in various genres of music.

THOM BRESH: SONGS AND STORIES

Raised amongst guitar royalty, (Merle Travis, Speedy West, Jimmy Bryant, Roy Lanham, Thumbs Carllile, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and many others), Thom Bresh has written theme songs for motion pictures, performed on HBO Specials, hosted his own TV show, and has two Grammy and one Academy Award nominations to his credit.

“The guitar is my first love, my partner in life. We grew up together and we’ll most likely die together. Everything I’ve accomplished was with it. Every great moment in my career was because of it. Remember my heritage. To me, playing the guitar is not about licks and speed. That’s only for the insiders. Playing it makes music and music is an emotion. Emotions are stimulated by feelings and sounds. That works on everybody. When the sound and feel are right... Wow!”

Armed with just a guitar (he refers to it as “My Band”) and a lifetime of great stories of a life surrounded by the greats, Thom has performed in many of the great concert halls of the world today, was inducted into the “Thumbpickers Hall of Fame,” has been bestowed the title of “Wine Lord” by both Bordeaux, France and Patrimonio, Corsica World Wine Councils and has been entertaining people for a lifetime.

Two great bands doing classic songs in one show. Good Night John Boy and The Tony Sarno Band are two local Nashville bands who's members have years of experience playing the hits and playing with the hitmakers. A great night of music!
