SAMANTHA FISH INTERVIEW
(Originally aired on September 15, 2011)
When the trio Girls with Guitars released their kickin' debut album, fans of fiery lead guitar took notice of Samantha Fish, the then 22-year-old Telecaster-wielding singer and writer who contributed so much to the album. Shortly after recording Girls with Guitars with bassist Cassie Taylor and lead guitarist Dani Wilde, Fish went back into the studio to track her solo debut, Runaway. Produced by Mike Zito - an amazing guitarist in his own right - Runaway presents Fish at her rockin' best as a hot guitarist, exceptional vocalist and powerful songwriter.
In our exclusive interview, Fish describes recording Runaway in Berlin, how she and Zito developed their guitar parts, why she is drawn to the Tele, and how her music is evolving as a result of making this album. During this feature, we'll hear selections from Girls with Guitars and Runaway that showcase Fish's passionate playing and singing.
